Life Lab Undergraduate Researchers

The OUR is hiring up to four undergraduate researchers to help develop a new professional development curriculum: Life Lab.  Participants will help launch this program through expansive literature reviews, curriculum development, and online learning module creation. This is a great opportunity for students interested in social science or education research, or who want to grow their literature review and synthesis skills. Students from all majors and disciplines are welcome to apply. The application will remain open until filled, so apply ASAP!

 

Spring Federal Work Study Application is OPEN

Have a research project and mentor, and hoping to be paid to conduct research? Apply to the Federal Work-Study Research Program! This program provides an hourly wage to eligible undergraduate students conducting research under the guidance of a mentor. Through this program, you’ll also grow professionally through tailored workshops and online resources. Apply by January 19, 2026!

 

Crystal Skipper Butterfly Fieldwork Research

Doctoral student Laura Taylor is recruiting undergraduate students to work in Emerald Isle, NC this summer to help develop a monitoring program for the Crystal Skipper Butterfly. Submit your application materials by Friday, January 9, 2026!

 

STEPS REU Summer Program

Join the STEPS team to learn about sciences & technologies for phosphorus sustainability. Students will work on independent projects while receiving mentorship from STEPS researchers. Deadline: January 31, 2026!

 

AHA’s Summer Research Experience

Apply soon for the American Heart Association’s summer research experience! Student gain hands-on experience in cardiovascular and implant research. Learn about research, medicine, and team science. Deadline: December 15, 2025!

Addressing Agricultural Water Pollution REU

Join NC State faculty this summer for the Research & Extension Experience on Addressing Ag Water Pollution. Students will integrate science, policy, and communication skills to address water pollution. Deadline: January 15, 2026!

Dignity: An Undergraduate Human Rights Journal is the UNC System’s premier undergraduate journal focusing on human rights scholarship, artistic exploration, and research. Current students and alumni are welcome to submit. Consider submitting for their next issue in May 2026!

Envisioning Urban Futures: More-Than-Human-Cities

This annual conference focuses on envisioning positive future outcomes through research endeavors. This year’s theme, “more-than-human cities” recognizes and incorporates the needs and agency of non-human species in urban planning and design. This event will take place on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 in Hunt Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Want to share your undergraduate research? Submit your poster for the Envisioning Urban Futures conference by Monday, January 5, 2026! Deadline Extended! Apply to the UNC System Presidential Scholars Program

Each year, four recent graduates from UNC System undergraduate programs are selected to serve as Presidential Scholars. This paid, eleven-month, full-time rotational fellowship is based at the UNC System Office in Raleigh, NC, where Scholars gain hands-on experience in areas such as government relations, budget & finance, academic & student affairs, communications, and more. Apply by Friday, December 5th! Graduates in December 2025 and May 2026 are welcome to apply!
