HI 385.601. Introduction of Public History. Tu/Th 11:45 – 1:00 (online, synchronous)
Ever wonder how history finds its way into museums, movies, and monuments?  Well, public history is the answer!  In this introduction to public history, we will discuss a wide range of topics and disciplines within public history like museums, historic preservation, cultural heritage, popular culture, memorialization, family history, heritage tourism, difficult histories, oral history, and global history.  Utilizing case studies, expert interviews, and hands-on projects, we will begin to understand what public historians do, how history impacts our everyday lives, and how we can impact history.
This course is appropriate for freshmen, so as you begin to work with your incoming students, please keep this course in mind.
HI 210.601. Modern Europe 1815-Present. (online, asynchronous)
This course was formerly listed as a hybrid course, but is now full online (asynchronous). I know I spoke with many students who were seeking a few fully online courses for their fall schedule. Please let them know that the format of this course has changed and will no longer require an in-person meeting.
