New Student Programs (NSP) is looking for passionate, driven students to become Orientation Leaders or Summer Start Mentors for Summer 2027!
As a student leader, you’ll play a vital role in welcoming new students to NC State: helping them find their place, build community, and start strong. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on leadership experience, sharpen real-world skills, and build lasting connections with fellow leaders, staff, and the entire Pack.
Whether you’re hyping up a crowd or leading your small group at Orientation, or mentoring students and planning events through their first college summer, you’ll be part of something big!

The deadline to apply to be an NSP student leader for Summer 2027 is Friday, October 16, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Step 1: Visit the NSP Student Leader Recruitment website for information about the positions’ responsibilities, requirements, compensation, and more.
Step 2: Attend an Information Session to learn more about each position. These sessions are optional but can be helpful to hear from former student leaders and their experiences.

- September 29, 2026: 5:00pm – 5:30pm virtual via Zoom – link
- October 5, 2026: 5:00pm – 5:30pm virtual via Zoom – link
Step 3: Decide which position is the best fit for you – Orientation Leader and/or Summer Start Mentor
Step 4: Fill out the online application by Friday, October 16 at 11:59PM.
