The Career Development Center is excited to offer Your Pack, Your Path: Career Readiness for First Years, a workshop series designed with NC State first-year and transfer students in mind, though all students are welcome to attend.
The series includes virtual workshops and in-person, hands-on Career Labs to help students explore career options, learn about Career Development Center resources and take intentional steps toward their career goals. Students can attend individual sessions based on their interests or participate in the full series.
Fall 2026 Your Pack, Your Path Workshops
Workshop 1: Overview of the Career Development Center

Students will learn about Career Development Center resources, programs and opportunities available throughout their time at NC State, including an introduction to ePACK. Students will leave with an understanding of available career resources and a next step for engaging with the Career Development Center.
Workshop 2: Design Your First-Year Career Action Plan

In this hands-on Career Lab, students will create a personalized first-year career action plan with intentional, achievable steps for exploring career interests, building skills and gaining meaningful experiences. The workshop emphasizes progress over perfection and helps students develop a roadmap for making the most of their first year.
Workshop 3: Career Assessments: Learning About Yourself

Students will discover how career assessments can help them better understand their interests, strengths and career possibilities. This workshop introduces Focus 2, the O*NET Interest Profiler and CliftonStrengths. Students will learn how these tools can support decisions about majors, career paths and future opportunities.
Workshop 4: CliftonStrengths & Career Success

In this interactive Career Lab, students will explore how their unique talents connect to potential career paths, workplace success and professional growth while identifying strategies for leveraging their strengths throughout their time at NC State.
Workshop 5: Focus 2 Deep Dive

Students will take a deeper dive into their Focus 2 results and begin connecting potential majors and careers to their interests, values and skills.
