AEE 495 – LeaderChef: Cultivating Leadership Through a Culinary Arts Experience, is a Packways HIE Recognized, high-engagement, interdisciplinary course that moves leadership development out of the boardroom and into the university’s teaching kitchen!
This isn’t just a cooking class or just a leadership class. It’s an authentic, real-time leadership laboratory. Students will fuse concepts from leadership development, organizational behavior, ethics, and the culinary arts to practice essential skills like communication, delegation, creativity, resilience, and adaptive decision-making while learning from award-winning chefs and collaborating with each other in the kitchen.
The hands-on, three-hour sessions and mentorship with expert guest chefs from in and around Raleigh-Durham will give students the opportunity to build the kinds of leadership skills that transfer to any major or career path. Crucially, no prior cooking experience is required and the course is open to ANY MAJOR!
