MEAS Undergraduate Updates
The OsburnLab is looking for an undergraduate who likes laboratory work and seeks to gain experience related to water quality and biogeochemistry. Duties will include basic laboratory upkeep (i.e., dish duty), sample filtration, spectroscopy measurements, and support of sample preparation and measurement as needed. The student will work with common acids and bases and organic solvents. The student will work with graduate students and faculty to process data (primarily with Matlab using in-house scripts) and report results.
The position requires a time commitment of 10-20 hr per week. Depending on interest and performance there is an opportunity for local to regional field sampling in support of ongoing lab activities.
Requirements: CH 201 & 202 (laboratory) with a grade of B+ or higher. Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, Google documents). Dependable and flexible schedule (e.g., weekdays and weekends, nights as needed). The University EHPS-HW104 Laboratory Chemical Waste Management Training must be completed.
