OUR Events and Reminders

(updated) The OUR is accepting OUR Ambassador applications. We are hiring ambassadors for May 2024 through Spring 2025; hired ambassadors will work during the Summer. The application is open and will remain open through May 10 at 5:00pm.
Fall 2024 Project Supply Grants are open. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Fall grant submissions are due by June 28. You must attend a Help Session to have your proposal read (see site for more information; Fall sessions to be offered in May/June, TBA).
The 2024 Envisioning Research Contest is open. Undergraduate researchers, as well as graduates, staff, and faculty are invited to submit images, gifs, and/or videos related to your research. Envisioning Research submissions are due by June 17. Monetary prizes are available for winners.
Reminder: If you are a student applying to positions requiring references, do NOT put down the OUR as the contact. Write down your mentor so that they can speak to your abilities.

Program/Opportunity Applications

The Cultivating Research Experience with Community-Engaged Roots (CRECER) program is seeking undergraduate and graduate students to serve as near-peer mentors. Experiences bridge microbiology, genetics and genomics, and agriculture to Latine high school students in rural NC. Apply to CRECER.
