On Sunday, September 15th, the Student and Early Career Session will take place, kicking off an exciting week at the 2024 National Weather Association (NWA) Annual Meeting in Irving, TX. With a full day of session activities planned, we encourage you to join us! The NWA is committed to promoting excellence in operational meteorology to benefit society! We’ve curated the times of our session activities to accommodate your arrival on either Saturday night or Sunday morning. Still deciding what career path to take? That’s okay — we hope you can join us for this learning opportunity!

In addition to the activities planned for this session, you’ll have the opportunity to network with professionals attending the Broadcast Meteorology Workshop during snack/networking breaks! Beyond Sunday’s activities, we highly encourage you to stick around for the remainder of the NWA Annual Meeting, which will take place Monday – Wednesday. These sessions will provide invaluable opportunities to interact with professionals, learn about the latest innovations across a variety of sectors, and make new connections. There is also an opportunity to volunteer to give student weather briefings to the attendees, providing a great opportunity to practice your science communication skills. We promise that these sessions and the associated activities will energize you and help jumpstart your career. For many of us, NWA was the reason we got our first jobs and has helped us find success throughout our careers!

The NWA has discounted membership rates for students and early career professionals. Members receive discounts on meeting registrations and receive updates first, so if you aren’t a member join today!. Stay tuned to Social Media and the meeting website for the latest information.
