New News and Events
  • (new) Do you have a research mentor whom you would like to recognize for their guidance, support, advice, etc.? If you’re a volunteer, research assistant, funding awardee, or any other type of undergraduate research mentee working with a faculty/staff mentor, submit a nomination for the Michael Dickey Outstanding Research Mentor Award by March 1 – Mentor Award Nomination form.
  • (new) Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 Project Supply Grants are now open! Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Summer grant submissions are due by March 20; Fall grant submissions are due by June 28.
    • Students MUST attend a proposal help session to have their proposal read. If you have not attended one between January 2023-now, you will need to do so.
    • Participant pay is now allowed as part of projects/supplies! Attend a help session or reach out to Dr. Showalter (if you’ve already attended one) for more information about participant pay allowances. Remember, IRBs need to be completed (or in the last review round) before a project can be awarded.
  • Review and sign up for OUR Spring 2024 Seminars. Some information is still being finalized, but you can still view all relevant information, sign up to attend, and save it on your calendar. Seminars are open to all.
  • Review the 2024 NC State Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). The list is subject to updates (check back!). Find non-NC State REUs on the NSF REU Database and Pathways to Science Database.
  • If you’re a student applying to programs/jobs, do not write down the OUR as your supervisor for work history. Make sure to include your mentor and your mentor’s contact information; they will be able to speak to your abilities.
