MEAS Undergraduate Updates

The North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies (NCICS) in Asheville, NC is currently seeking student interns to work remotely with Institute and NOAA NCEI scientists on current projects for the fall. The intern(s) will support various project­-related tasks assigned by scientists who will provide appropriate guidance. Such activities may include, but are not limited to: data search and acquisition, data formatting, statistical analysis, mathematical model formulation, data calibration, assessment, and various applications.

The intern(s) will be expected to utilize their education and background to:

­-Complete a variety of scientific tasks under guidance from Institute scientists;
­-Apply mathematical and statistical concepts to environmental information;
-Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently; ­
-Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills as needed;
­-Effectively communicate challenges, approaches, and resolutions to all levels of the organization as requested or needed;
-Maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
