The Geoscience Education & Mentorship Support (GEMS) program is recruiting mentors and mentees for the 2023-2024 academic year. GEMS supports individuals applying to or exploring graduate school across the geosciences (including Earth, atmospheric, ocean, planetary, and environmental sciences) through virtual mentoring. We match students with mentors based on interests, needs, and backgrounds.
Are you planning to apply to graduate programs either now or in the future? Apply to be a mentee! We’ll match you with someone who can help guide you through the process.
GEMS has two tracks: the Ruby Track is for individuals interested in going to graduate school in the future, and the Sapphire Track is for individuals applying to graduate programs during the current application cycle. Mentors can choose to provide support in either track. Please note that we are not currently accepting applications from international students who have never been enrolled in a US degree-granting program.
The application deadline is October 1. Matches will be assigned October 10th.
