AEE 230 Introduction to Cooperative Extension and AEE 325 Planning and Delivering Nonformal Education are offered this fall. Both courses are important for preparing students to succeed in careers with the Cooperative Extension System, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. These courses are integral to the Extension Education Minor (11EXTEDM) and prepare students for the NC State Extension Summer Internship Program. Seats are available.
- AEE 230 Introduction to Cooperative Extension
- Course content includes the Cooperative Extension mission, philosophy, history, organization, structure, administration, program areas, program development, teaching and delivery methods, and the involvement and use of volunteers.
- Students conduct in-depth interviews with Extension Agents to learn about their roles and responsibilities.
- Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:45 pm in 407 111 Lampe Drive.
- AEE 325 Planning and Delivering Nonformal Education
- Course content includes adult learning theory and practice, planning nonformal educational programs, methods of instructional delivery, technology, marketing, and program evaluation.
- Students engage in nonformal education programs as they create their own program plan and evaluation.
- Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:55 to 3:45 pm in 204 Cox Hall.
