We welcome students and faculty/staff to meet with (or email) OUR staff and student ambassadors with research-related questions or concerns!
OUR Events and Reminders
- The NC State Undergraduate Research and Creativity Spring Symposium will be held April 25-26 in Talley – save the dates! The submission space will open in late February/early March. Students from all disciplines should consider submitting; your work can be presented as an oral or poster presentation, as well as an exhibit/installation or performance. Your work can be finished, in progress, or a piece of a bigger project. The OUR will offer help sessions as you prepare. You can find information, past abstract books (for examples), and updates on the Symposium website.
- A few submission announcements and deadlines will be coming up in February/March. Review information about funding, opportunities, events, and more on the OUR website to get a jumpstart on proposals, abstracts, and other items.
- Spring 23 OUR seminars have been posted; review descriptions and register with this link! We will provide numerous sessions on research-related topics for those meeting requirements or those curious about a variety of research topics – all are welcome!
- The OUR provides travel awards (accepted throughout the year) to help mitigate costs of going to a conference or discipline-related event if you are accepted to present. Make sure to read requirements and submit all necessary information.
Other Events and Reminders
- The Equity Research Symposium will be held March 8. Proposals are due by January 30 (submit here).
- Interested in a summer research opportunity? Check out the current list of NC State programs and/or other university/foundation programs. Deadlines are coming up quickly!
- If you have an idea for a project that could improve sustainability, consider applying for an NC State Sustainability Fund grant. Read more about the opportunity and apply by March 5 on the grant page.
- As reference/application season approaches, students who have held RA positions or are funded via the OUR should write down their mentors as the reference/employer contact, not the OUR.
Happy researching!
