MEAS Undergraduate Updates

Slots are available in NSF-sponsored International Research Experience “Bioinspired Autonomy in Natural Environments” in the summer of 2023 (May 22 – Aug 20). We start in Blacksburg VA (preparation week), Brunei (main part of stay), as well as KAIST in South Korea and the National University of Singapore. The research capitalizes on the biodiversity of Borneo/Brunei environment, which translates results into exciting engineering applications.
Any STEM graduate students can apply (US citizens and green card only).

Students receive a $5,000 stipend, international travel (including roundtrip airfare, airport transportation, visa fee, and international health insurance), and all lodging during the program.

Applications should be emailed to rolf.mueller@vt.edu and should include a CV, statement of interest (1 page), and unofficial transcript. Two letters of reference should be emailed to rolf.mueller@vt.edu directly by the writers. The deadline for receipt of the applications is February 15; the reference letters should arrive shortly thereafter.
