MEAS Undergraduate Updates

The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) is excited to announce that nominations for the 17th Annual Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards Program are now open! The awards will be given out on April 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM in part with the Recognizing Excellence in Diversity (RED) event.

2023 Award Categories include:

  • Outstanding Faculty Award
  • Outstanding Staff Award
  • Outstanding Student Award (Undergraduate and Graduate)
  • Outstanding College/Organization/Unit Award
  • Outstanding Student Organization Award
  • Alumni Legacy Award

The Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards program recognizes outstanding faculty, staff, colleges/organizations/units, students, and student organizations that have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion. Outstanding individual awards and the outstanding student organization award include university-wide recognition, a plaque and up to $500. The outstanding college/unit award will receive $1000.

In an effort to recognize the contributions of NC State alumni in diversity and inclusion practice, the Alumni Legacy Award was added to the Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards nomination process in 2020. This recipient will be recognized during the ceremony and receive a plaque of recognition.

The deadline for nominations is March 6, 2023. Please click here for the online nomination form. Individuals, colleges/organizations/units and student organizations may self-nominate.

Note: OIED staff and other university employees whose key job responsibilities connect with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are not eligible for these awards.
