Are you committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and accessibility (DEIJA) in organizations and would like more experience doing so? We are seeking a part time DEIJA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Accessibility) Specialist to help us advance DEIJA principles throughout our three programs. NC Water Resources Research Institute, NC Sea Grant, and NC Space Grant are co-located and share a DEIJA Vision and a DEIJA Team to support our efforts. We recognize that achieving this vision requires consistent, intentional action. Our DEIJA Specialist will work 20 hours/week for 11 months to support this vision by building and enhancing connections with Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCU), Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), and other academic institutions, and other members and groups located within and/or serving traditionally underserved and underrepresented communities. The primary goal of this position will be to recruit and support potential applicants to further diversify and strengthen the applicant pools for the three organizations’ grants and fellowships. The DEIJA Specialist also will coordinate monthly DEIJA team meetings, and help evaluate metrics to inform the three groups’ actions moving forward.
