OUR Events and Reminders
  • Federal Work Study Research Assistant applications are open for AY22-23, with MyPack descriptions opening next week! You can read more about requirements, expectations, and details on the OUR FWS page. If you are a student, please apply using this form (check that you are eligible prior to applying). If you are faculty/staff wishing to serve as a mentor, let us know via the mentor interest form.
  • The OUR is looking for a student research ambassador to join the AY22-23 team. You can view requirements, details, and apply (by August 10) on the Ambassador page.
    Below are some offerings for the Fall semester:

    • The OUR will continue professional development seminars in the Fall. Whether you’re required to attend, want to learn more, are starting research, are seasoned, or any other reason–join us! Topics, dates/times, and locations to be announced soon.
    • The State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) will be held in November at UNC Wilmington. More info coming soon.
    • Fall Sidewalk Symposium will be held in late September. Demonstrate your creative side, practice presenting your work (finished or in progress), and/or come to view the research art!
  • Not sure where/how/whom to talk to in order to start research? Meet with us! OUR staff and student research ambassadors are happy to help!

  • The Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium (GCURS) will be held October 8-9 at Rice University. Find more details on the GCURS website.
