MEAS Undergraduate Updates
If you are a student of color considering a career in industry, consider applying to join the 2022-2023 cohort of Level the Playing Field.
Level the Playing Field is a new(ish) local three-phase (year-long), inter-institutional professional development program that seeks to recruit, train, and place STEM undergraduate students of color into top corporations like Google, Pfizer, and more. The program was founded by passionate faculty and students who seek to cultivate equity in STEM (the program’s director is an MD/PhD student at UNC). In the first phase, students engaged in STEM-specific professional development workshops in the Triangle area. In the second phase, students participate in a 2-credit professional development course at UNC (as an NC State student, you can enroll in this course for free via the Inter-Institutional Agreement). In the third phase, students complete a paid internship at a local company that aligns with their particular career interests.
