PHI 227, Data Ethics, will be available for the first time in the first summer session, when it will be offered as a DE course (PHI 227-601), with a textbook bill of $0.00.
Catalog description: Application of theories of moral right to issues such as free speech and “information pollution”; privacy and security; and algorithmic fairness, inequality and transparency.
The course satisfies the GEP Humanities and GEP Interdisciplinary Perspectives requirements. (Approved for the GEP lists in October 2020 – may not appear in all relevant degree audit lists but it does count.)
The course will also be offered Fall 2021 in the classroom (PHI 227-001).
