Early Alert is a family-owned business that provides customized weather forecast products and emergency management services to some of the world’s largest corporations, including Bank of America, Home Depot, United Rentals, and Comcast.

Early Alert Professional Development Program (Paid Internships):
Early Alert, in partnership with NC State, provides paid part-time internships to students and recent graduates. This program focuses upon the professional development of participants as well as the application of meteorological knowledge to real-world problems.

Over the past several years, there have been over 25 NC State students who have participated in this program, seven of whom are now full-time meteorologists with Early Alert and others who have careers with the EPA, NWS, and positions in state government, academia, and other private sector corporations.

Opening for 1-2 Part-Time Interns:
Early Alert is currently seeking applicants for 1-2 paid intern positions in our Professional Development Program. Candidates must have availability a few times a week during their training period and may be called upon to assist Early Alert’s MetTeam during high-impact events. Working hours will not conflict with students’ academic schedules nor will they be asked to work during Final Exam Week. All work is performed at home from the student’s own computer.

Early Alert will provide the necessary training to become part of the MetTeam. Initial training will cover an overview of the company’s mission, services, products, and staffing. Meteorological training will cover high-impact hazards including winter weather, severe weather, tropical, and flooding. Interns will also undergo familiarization training with various NWS products and resources and evaluate the transformation of this information into customized Early Alert products.

Interested applicants, please email resumes to KermitK@EarlyAlert.com

As the selection process proceeds, interviews will be conducted online by Early Alert Staff Members. It is our goal to complete the selection process within two weeks.
