The Bonneville Power Administration has posted a Vacancy Announcement for a recent graduate meteorologist internship within our Power Services Division, as part of the federal government’s Pathways Program. The Power Services Division at BPA manages the energy planning and marketing, economic analysis, energy efficiency planning and water and weather forecasting for the Federal Columbia River Power System.
The position is out on USAJobs at: https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/572555300
Applicants will have to follow the instructions in the Vacancy Announcement very carefully, especially the requirements to include transcripts and making sure resumes cover all of the information requested in the announcement. Applications must be submitted by the vacancy announcement closing date on July 11.
Interns hired under the Pathways Recent Graduate program generally qualify if they are going to graduate within the next nine months (i.e. this summer or fall), if they graduated within the past two years, or if they graduated and then served in the military within the past five years. The selectee will then work full-time with us for up to one full year. If they complete the full year and perform very well during that time, they can become a permanent BPA meteorologist without further competition.
Our HR lead for student interns, Amanda Wylie, is also an excellent resource for those seeking information on how to apply (adwylie@bpa.gov ).
