NC State
MEAS Undergraduate Updates
BioSci faculty Drs. Melissa Ramirez, Caiti Heil, Claire Gordy, and Carlos Goller have discussed starting an NC State chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
Membership is open to people of any STEM major, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and disability status. The chapters at each University are committed to the advancement of BIPOC through engagement in professional development, community building, and outreach and education. The annual conference is the largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity event in the country. You can read more about it here:

If you’re interested in being involved, please reach out to us, or fill out the form here. Undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and faculty are all welcome. Please feel free to spread the word to anyone at NC State who may be interested. We are currently engaged in recruiting members, and will soon hold an initial organizational meeting to discuss future plans.
