The Wilson College of Textiles Rohde Leadership Steering Committee will host its annual Women in Leadership Speaker Series on Wednesday, March 18 for faculty, staff and students.
This year’s theme is focused on entrepreneurship or what we are calling, “Betting on Yourself”. The overarching theme is entrepreneurship and there are opportunities to engage with entrepreneurs on how they bet on themselves to make their dreams a reality.
The entrepreneurs panel will be in the Wilson College of Textiles Convocation Center (rm. 2225) from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. and will feature:
- Jessica Couch, Founder of Luxor + Finch Consulting
- Jamelle Eugene, Founder and CEO of Gryppers, Inc.
- Emily Neville, CEO of Reborn Clothing and
- Beth Stewart, Executive Director of Redress Raleigh
The day will conclude with the keynote speaker, Amy Wright, Founder and CEO of Bitty and Beau’s Coffee at 6 p.m. in the Hunt Library Auditorium with a reception to follow. Amy is a proud mother of four children – the two youngest, Bitty & Beau, have Down syndrome. Amy and her husband are advocates for the value, inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and they have dedicated their lives to making the world a better place for their children and others living with disabilities. The Wrights opened the original Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, January 2016 in Wilmington, NC and Amy was named the 2017 CNN Hero of the Year.
This is a great opportunity for all undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff to hear from entrepreneurs and learn ways to bet on yourself!
