The Study Abroad Office will be hosting two informational meetings next week for undergraduate students eligible for the prestigious Gilman and Gilman-McCain Scholarship Programs.
- The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. The Institute of International Education has administered the program since its inception in 2001.
- The Gilman-McCain Scholarship is a congressionally funded initiative of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and named after the late senator John S. McCain from Arizona. The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs.
If students are not able to attend next week’s meetings, they are welcome to reach out to me directly (jkkeith@ncsu.edu) for individual advising or they may stop-by our office’s open advising hours for Gilman/Gilman-McCain applicants.
Special thanks to our partners in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and Military and Veteran Services for their additional assistance in promoting this special opportunity to students!
