On September 24th, three MEAS hydrogeology alumni who are working locally are coming to Jordan Hall to talk to students about working in hydrogeology and environmental geology broadly:
- Michael Jordan (M.S. 2003), Senior Geologist at Terracon
- Matt Burnette (M.S. 2013), Senior Stormwater Engineer at Draper Aden Associates
- Lisa Nickels (M.S. 2016), Geologist at Hart and Hickman
Their presentations and panel discussion with students will take place in MEA 485 (Introduction to Hydrogeology), 1015-1130 am, 1109 Jordan Hall. Dr. Genereux would like to open the event up to all interested undergrads (not just those currently in MEA 485). The three alumni that will be there have a wide range of experience in this field, at different companies. Students attending will be able to ask questions and pick up some insights on working in the groundwater field.
If possible, it might help if undergrads not in MEA 485 could just drop him an e-mail (genereux@ncsu.edu) if they plan to attend, so he has a sense of how many to expect. But last-second decisions to attend are OK too.
