NC State
MEAS Undergraduate Updates

Greetings from the Office of International Services!

We are very excited to welcome over 1,200 new international students to campus this fall and are looking for volunteers for our Small Pack Leaders and Culture to Culture Ambassadors (CCAP) program. Small Pack Leaders support incoming international graduate students and Culture to Culture Ambassadors provide first-semester support to incoming international undergraduates. Each program includes extensive training and support from the Office of International Services staff and our partners and provides leadership opportunities that strengthen the campus community and global learning. We hope you’ll join the OIS in welcoming our new international students to campus this fall!
Small Pack Leaders (Graduate Student Orientation)
Are you looking for opportunities to further enhance your leadership skills or develop your ability to communicate cross-culturally? Do you want to help welcome new internationals to NC State? The Office of International Services is looking for campus and community volunteers to serve as Small Pack Leaders for our incoming group of international graduate students.

Small Pack Leaders (SPLs) play a key role in preparing new international graduate students for their move to Raleigh and in orienting them to NC State once they’ve arrived. SPLs work as a pair to communicate with a designated group of new international students and answer their basic questions before their arrival. Once the new students have arrived, SPLs then lead their group through orientation in August. Serving as an SPL is a unique experience to add to your resume and a great way to meet new people and have fun!

CCAP Ambassadors (Undergraduate Student Orientation)
The Culture to Culture Ambassador Program (CCAP) is designed to support new international undergraduate students in transitioning to life at NC State University. “Ambassadors” act as friends and mentors to new students, organizing monthly social events, as well as offering one-on-one peer mentorship for those new students who request it. While ambassadors are offering their support, they are also seeking to learn from new students. Ultimately, CCAP is working to create a community of cultural exchange and connection at NC State. Applicants must be current undergraduate students and commit to serving for one full semester.
